"I love working in Merrill Area Public Schools because of the incredible connections I’ve built across the district. Having time to collaborate with others who do similar work and share the same passion for supporting children and families makes such a difference in our work. Every day, I see how small interactions can have a big impact on the lives of the families and students we serve. On top of that, Kate Goodrich feels like a second home—I’m surrounded by colleagues who feel like friends and family, always ready to support each other through the day's ups and downs. It’s a truly special place to be." - Casey Hanson, Kate Goodrich Secretary
"I enjoy working at MAPS because of the strong sense of community within our district. I value the personal connections, especially the fact that our superintendent takes the time to know me as an individual. Over the past 10 years, the team I’ve worked with has made coming to work truly enjoyable. I also appreciate how deeply our district cares about the success and well-being of our students." - Megan Spoon, 6th grade teacher
"What I love most about working at MAPS is everyone understands that we are all in the same boat. Our kids all have field trips and concerts, we have sports and doctors appointments, everyone just steps up. We can have amazing work - life balance because we are in this together. Everyone supports one another so that as a community we can achieve being a parent and an employee without having to choose one or the other. "
- Taylor Pophal, Food Service Secretary
You never know where life’s winding road will take you, but for me, it led me home. As an alumni, I look back on my time as a student and am incredibly thankful to have the opportunity to work in the school district that helped shape the person I am today. Merrill Area Public Schools is so much more than just a workplace—it’s a community built on strong traditions, dedicated staff, and incredible support systems. The sense of camaraderie among colleagues has made them feel like family, and our administration consistently prioritizes what’s best for students and staff. Most of all, our students’ kindness and love of learning makes this an inspiring place to be. I’m grateful to be part of a district that values its people and remains committed to its mission every day.
-Kasie Holt, MHS School Counselor
