Paid Time Off (PTO)

Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) recognizes the importance of work-life balance and provides paid time off (PTO) to support the well-being of our employees. PTO includes vacation, personal, and sick leave, allowing staff to take time for personal needs, family obligations, and overall wellness.

Types of Available Leave

Leaves of Absence

The administration will consider requests for a leave of absence without pay or benefits, on an individual basis, wherein it would be of mutual benefit to the school system and the employee. When an approved leave is due to the extension of an FMLA related matter, the individual will be required to use any accrued paid leave remaining. A request for leave should be submitted to the Human Resources Department. 

Any absence from work for more than 5 consecutive days is considered to be a Leave of Absence and will require completion of a Request for Leave of Absence.
